52nd Belmont Old Timer Grand Prix – Nürburgring 1st – 3rd August 2025
We were delighted to receive an invitation from our customer Oliver Treutlein to attend the 52nd Belmont Old Timer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring.
Oliver was involved in some of the sponsorship and after issuing our invitation also got involved in another event so sadly couldn’t join us there.
However, Jack accompanied by Dad, Jason in Jack’s Lagonda, and David in his Bentley hopped over to Germany via the Chunnel. Apparently, this is the way to do it, benefitting from no seasickness and if picking the flexi plus tickets a doggy bag with free snacks to enjoy on the way!
Arriving in France the team enjoyed a drive across the continent in lovely weather until it poured with rain for the last 15 minutes! They met Oliver at his bespoke carpet factory in Meerbusch (pictured) and stayed in Meerbusch that evening.
On Friday 2nd Oliver led the guys via a fantastic scenic route through the lovely countryside from Meerbusch to Nürburgring.
Arriving on Friday afternoon at the 52nd Belmont Old Timer Grand Prix, the cars both drove around the Grand Prix track. On Saturday it was the Grand Prix track once again and also the Nordschleife “North Loop”.
This is a historic 12.9 mile long motorsport track in the Eifel Mountains, this longer, older track made the Nürburgring famous. Then onto Sunday, they enjoyed a drive around both tracks once again. Unfortunately, they were not allowed to do actual timed racing laps so this meant that David and Jack went around together (they are usually placed in different categories). So technically, not actual racing and so no one beat anyone!
The guys enjoyed seeing a wide variety of vehicles this time including a lot of MGs together with various Alfa Romeo, Healeys, Invicta, 4½ Bentleys and Jaguars. A complete mixture of all sorts of things.
David also became a media star whilst in Germany! Taking part in a glove modelling photo shoot! We have no idea where you may see this but keep your eye’s peeled (like we wouldn’t include a picture!).
Finally, here’s a small bit of footage of the guys taking the undulating corners on the track.
