Classics on Track for Children 4th June 2026
The team were delighted to once again to be invited to attend and support the Classics on Track for Children Charity day, hosted by The Duchess of Richmond and Gordon.
Once again David took his Bentley, with Roger driving the Lagonda and Jack in his Lagonda. Our apprentice Rupert joined the team this year and had a go at being passenger in all of the cars!
It was a great day, including younger children who were racing little electric cars, a bit like a streamlined go-kart. Each car and driver was sponsored by a youth organisation.
Over lunch, Rupert got chatting to the owner of a Porsche GT3RS and cheekily asked for a ride. The obliging owner kindly took Rupert out for a spin. Rupert advises it was very quick and he was pinned into the seat! Luckily this road legal car is fitted with a 6 point harness, and apparently goes around the corners so unbelievably quickly and it didn’t slip like any other car he’s been in.
I love to get the guys take on the day (hospitality is usually mentioned). On this note, Rupert says the coffee was lovely and he had fun bombing around the track.
Both David and Jack commented that although it rained heavily this made it fun and quite exciting.
Roger says a jolly good time was had by all and it was nice to talk to our customer Paul Auston about his car.
And not only that, the Classics on Track for Children day raised nearly £24,000 for charity, a fantastic result for a great cause. (Read more about the day on the Goodwood website).
